Developed a nutrition skills tool and mobile app prototype to enable patients with diabetes to sustain learned knowledge and behavior. Performed a literature review to identify common barriers to healthy diet adherence, and utilized evidence-based practice to devise solutions to barriers.

  • Conducted an online survey and five telephone interviews with patients to understand their household cooking practices and diet.

  • Produced a comprehensive social marketing plan aimed at promoting use of the nutrition skills tool.

Ceres is a national network of investors, environmental organizations, and other public interest groups working with companies and investors to address sustainability challenges such as global climate change and water scarcity.

  • Drafted press releases and fact sheets; wrote, designed, and distributed Ceres monthly e-newsletter; updated content on Ceres’ suite of websites; and managed Ceres’ media database.

  • Managed media inquiries and organized a variety of events, from MARE’s Walk for Adoption to Boston’s National Adoption Day.

  • Wrote and designed quarterly newsletter, and drafted copy for brochures, flyers, grants and press releases.

  • Managed photographic exhibit of children in foster care by securing photographers, children to appear in the exhibit, venues to host the exhibit, and publicity for the exhibit.

  • Wrote 360+ stories, from a high-profile lawsuit issued by the Islamic Society of Boston against a local Jewish organization to a feature on Jewish siblings with Kleine-Levin Syndrome, a rare sleeping disorder.

  • Edited and headlined stories; worked with production department in determining newspaper’s layout; assigned articles to reporters; and proofread news stories before they went to press.
